EN 252 — Field test method for wood in ground contact
Clause 4–9. Defines the stake test: 500 × 50 × 25 mm specimens installed half-buried at a field site, inspected at least annually and rated 0 (sound) to 4 (failure). Median time to failure of the replicate set is the reported service life indicator. Results are site-specific and are not transferable to another climate without stating the reference site.
