EN 460 — Natural durability required per use class
Table 1. Cross-tabulates natural durability class against use class to indicate whether untreated heartwood is acceptable, acceptable with reservations, or requires preservative treatment. In UC3 above ground, DC1–DC2 is normally acceptable, DC3 acceptable with reservations, DC4–DC5 not without treatment; in UC4 ground contact only DC1–DC2 is normally acceptable.
