EN 599-1 — Performance requirements for preventive wood preservatives
Clause 4–5. Requires preservatives to be tested for efficacy against defined biological agents for each intended use class, with ageing procedures (EN 84 leaching, EN 73 evaporative) applied before biological testing. A product claim is only valid for the use classes and agents actually tested; ground-contact (UC4) claims require separate field or soil-bed evidence.
