What the climate does to wood, by location.

Every station reads live from the ERA5 reanalysis archive when you select it. The degradation loads are derived from those measurements by published formulas; the service lives are modelled estimates under method WI-SL.

How to read this map

Pick the station closest to your site. It tells you what the climate there actually does to wood — sun, rain, damp, frost, salt — and roughly how long each species lasts before it needs work.
